Frequently Asked Questions…
Do I have to pay for a child aged under one?
No. All children aged under one on the day of your pre-booked performance do not pay for this event as they are too young to appreciate it.
Why do I have to pay the same price for adults and children?
Adults and children experience the same wonderful event, everyone enjoys the woodland theatre, children make festive gift topped off with a magical star given to them by Father Christmas, adults receive a small gift each, everyone skates on the artificial rink, rides on the train and can enjoy the small fair rides as well as visiting Snowy the Owl and his friends.
Is the event in a real woods?
Yes . All of the performances by the actors are set in woodland adjacent to Blakemere Village.
The terrain is therefore uneven, it can be muddy or even frozen depending upon the weather.
The remaining activities are located within Blakemere Village itself.
What should I wear?
You should wrap up nice and warm, layers are always an advantage.
We advise wearing wellies or walking boots and waterproofs depending on the weather forecast.
Hats, gloves and scarves are also recommended as you will be standing around in cold weather.
Does my child receive a gift from Father Christmas?
This year every paying child will be given a magical wooden star from Father Christmas to place on top of the wooden Christmas Tree they will make during their craft activity session in the tipi.
Can buggies go around the woodland element of the event?
Yes. Hardcore pathways have been laid around the majority of the woodland where the theatre performances are, however there are a couple of pathways that are on an incline where you may need assistance depending upon your strength and the age of the child in the buggy. There are usually helpers on hand to assist, please mention this before the start of your performance so that assistance can be provided.
How long does the whole event last?
The theatre in the woodland lasts just over an hour, the craft activity set in the tipi lasts 15-30 minutes depending on your child’s age and ability, it is then up to you how long you spend on the skating rink, fair rides, train ride and visit to Snowy the Owl. Most people’s experience last around 3 hours and don’t forget afterwards you can enjoy all of the attractions on Blakemere Village too!
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes. Hardcore pathways have been laid around the majority of the woodland where the theatre performances are, however there are a couple of pathways that are on an incline where you may need assistance depending upon your strength or your helpers. What if it rains?
The show stills goes on! Unless the weather is a health and safety issue we will not cancel any performances. Just wrap up extra warm and wear waterproof clothing. There are sails erected in parts of the woodland to provide some sort of shelter but we cannot guarantee that you won’t get wet. You will be able to dry off as soon as you enter the tipi, where there is an open log fire to get warm again.
What if I’m late for my performance?
We will try our best to fit you onto another performance, but cannot guarantee that this will be possible. We therefore advise you to arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure that you have booked in and are waiting to start on your magical journey.
Will I get a refund if I cancel?
Unfortunately we do not give refunds for any pre-booked tickets.
